Funerals

A funeral can be a time of great sorrow, pain and grief. It can also be a time of joy and celebration of a life well-lived. My professional life as a social worker in aged care in the past 12 years has provided many rich and beautiful experiences shared with families, and aged people facing loss, grief and death.

Let me give you support, understanding and encouragement at this painful time in your life Let us share the knowledge of your loved one-their personality and life valued by them and you. Let me assist you with a service to commemorate the precious life of this person who has died.

Birthdays and Coming of Age

It could be for a child who has survived illness, for a young person reaching puberty, for reaching the recognized age of adulthood - 18 or 21 years - or any significant milestone - 40-50-60-70-80-90-100 - years of living.

All these can be times to shout how great it is to be alive. Celebration of such rites of passage cement these times in our memories and bind us more closely to family and friends who share these with us.

I have participated in some wonderful commemorations of birthdays and have been glad to celebrate such special occasions, so consider me to assist you with special celebrations.

Pet Funeral

For some a pet is a vital companion to relieve loneliness and a source of support. The aim of a service is to commemorate that life shared with human companions. It is a fitting way to show gratitude and it helps the pet's owner to come to terms with their pet's loss.

For those of us who are attached to our pets, losing one to death is like losing a beloved family member.  So ask Jenny to have a special ceremony to help with your loss.

House Blessings

I can perform ceremonies in a house or unit to signify the change from a former place of residence to a new one. Change occurs to all of us .

Ceremonies marking special occasions can clarify moving from one to another and help us recognize the good in our life experiences. Being reassured that your new home has been blessed can be a comfort.

Divorce

A service to acknowledge both the positive and negative episodes in one's life experience can be a healing process for all concerned.

Loss of a marriage is a significant experience in the life of any individual, frequently, with many negative feelings which can impede new relationships from healthy functioning. A quiet ceremony with special close people who have supported you through the process can be valuable in assisting a person to detach from the times of hurt and resentment and make a fresh beginning-with a feeling of freedom!

I think such a ceremony can be valuable, promote good health and a new lease of life as it can free energy to fulfil new goals.  Talk to me as it can be a very personal way to move on with your life.

Retirement

When I finished full-time work and was honoured with a special celebration which I really appreciated from my fellow workers. It can be a wonderful means of recognition of working life and the sacrifices and commitment made and an occasion which supports the retiree in the coming change in lifestyle and makes way for the new aspects of their choice.

Retirement can be a challengin and exciting time, but it is also a time of closure and change.  A service to mark the change to a new era in your life can give purpose and reassurance.
